CAPE and CSEC students are to get examination results some time next week according to a statement by Yvonne Lewis, acting chief education officer at the Ministry of Education.

The MOE told The Student Press earlier today that all results are due to arrive in the country this week, and, after some processing, should be sent to schools by next week.

But Cleveland Sam, assistant registrar at the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) in Barbados, said in a telephone interview said that although CAPE results are ready, the CSEC results will take another week to be released.

Asked to give an indication of the overall success rate for T&T in the examinations this year, Sam said he could only speak about the regional success rate of CAPE examinations:

"It has basically stayed on the same level with roughly 89% of all entries receiving passing grades," he said.

CXC's website states that CSEC results will be distributed by Aug. 17.

Some students have been anxious about their results particularly in the past week.

"It caused me a lot of sleepless nights," said Stephan Maharaj of Trinity College East.

Stephan said he even called the ministry early this morning to find out about the results.
