layering2I like being creative with my clothes. I honestly enjoy re-creating different looks, resurrecting stuff that I don’t use very often (don’t throw clothes away, trust me).  Even with new clothes that I purchase, I try to figure out “how else can I wear this?”

What is layering? It is what the word is, basically wearing two tops, any two tops layered one on top of the other. It allows you to add your own personal twist to something that’s otherwise simple when you wear it alone. That’s why I love layering; it immediately allows you to “expand” your wardrobe just by putting two things together. In other words, you’re maximizing the use of basic pieces to create multiple looks.

So I have some girlfriends who for nothing just can’t seem to get this layering thing down right, so for them and for some of you girls who also share in their pain, let me give you some simple rules.

Perfect pieces for layering:

V-neck jerseys: Long and short sleeve. Try a short-sleeve shirt under a short-sleeve V-neck jersey. (Sleeveless shirts are good also.) If you’re wearing a long-sleeve V-neck jersey, you have the option to go with a shirt with or without sleeves, not really important. What matters most when layering using a jersey shirt combination is the fit of the shirt under the jersey. If the shirt is too big, you’ll have bulging; this is not so attractive. Bulging also gives the illusion of being bigger in size than you really are, and that’s not good for anybody. Why a V-neck? The V allows the shirt to fold over properly to the front instead of a round-neck or boat-neck jersey. (Might be able to get away with a round-neck.)

Vests: Whether you’re using T-backs or string-tops, vests are really easy to layer. Trick in this is, one vest must be longer than the other, or else layering becomes pointless. Long on top/short below, long below/short on top, choice is yours. The rule is, however, if you’re layering T-backs, layer two T-backs; same goes for string-tops – keep the same style. Colour options are endless. Another layering option using the vest is wearing the vest with a shirt (preferably short-sleeve), same points as above – instead of using a V-neck, use a vest with the shirt. I prefer string-tops instead of T-backs when using a vest and shirt combination.

Shirts: It’s even simpler with shirts – always use shirts below to layer. See, I did say it was simple.
Jerseys, vests and shirts are all you need to create a successful layer. Jerseys can be substituted with sweaters also.

Just so you know, layering stops with tops – layering pants and skirts is simply tragic. Please refrain from doing so. Complete your look with whatever you’re comfortable wearing below. Jeans, Pencils pants, skirts, anything you want will go with layered tops.

no offense bet leggings and boots looks hot if u dont no.i buy my skirts short so that the legging could make it look good if u dont care how u look thats u but we would like to look a little less ordinary layering is hot so instead of buying more clothes or making our clothes look like a uniform we layer and we leg our clothes if u have a prob thats u u do u well do us ur maybe thick thus u get warm faster or u hate the heat if u dont want to wear it dont just dont make washing an excuse
thats my opinion
