pointellebabydolltopYou're not feeling to dress up today because you're just not feeling to. That's fine, I have those days too. This however is not an excuse to leave your house looking a mess.

There are ways in which we can dress down, run some errands for mom, look like "I'm not trying hard to look good" but u do anyway and still feel comfortable without taking an hour to get dressed. A look that's effortlessly chic.

A few basic pieces that we all have in our wardrobe (should all have) with the right accessories and mission accomplished.

Leggings. Now I don't usually advise this at all. To tell you the truth, I actually started to hate leggings because people wear them in the most ridiculous way ever. I call it "leggings gone wrong" but that's another article.

A Jean Capri is a suitable compromise if you don't like leggings.

If you're comfortable wearing shorts (that's not too short and NOT gripping your butt) this too can be another option.  What? You thought "If it aint tight it aint right..." please, leave that for TC. You're bound to have one of the three in your wardrobe.

A tunic style top definitely creates an easy going look .They usually fit the waistline nicely, but also gives the impression of a loose fitting top at the same time because it's a little longer in length  (good purchase in the Indian expos).

You may not have a tunic, so an alternate to this is a wrap top. This might be easier to find and for some a more likely piece in your wardrobe. A wrap top keeps the natural silhouette of your body.

A baby doll top would make a simple yet stylish combination also. And they're relatively popular in most stores right now. Sure to have something like this in your drawer.

If you're wearing leggings, ensure that your top is long enough to cover your behind, that's the no. 1 rule with leggings, so you can pair this with the tunic or the wrap top if it's long enough.

If you opt for the shorts or capri the baby doll is a cute addition to either one.

Accessorise to enhance your look. A long chain with a pendant or multiple less detailed chains can be used if you're wearing the tunic.

This breaks up the length of the top and long legging creating a focal point mid way between the two.

If you're doing the shorts combination, bold earrings will draw attention to your face. (Never a bad thing)

To maintain that chic look try wearing a shoe off the ground, and no I don't mean 5" heels. We're trying to be comfortable here. A very low wedge or espadrille or even a nice pair of ballet type flats will keep your feet happy and still look fashionable.

Just throw on your sunglasses and grab your bag and you're ready to go. And that's your comfortable chic look.

Hi Tiffy, getting comfortably chic is just as easy for you too. I'll pull from what i wrote above to steer you in the right direction. I'd opt for the jean capri and a wrap top for you.

If you don't have a wrap top a v-neck will do great as a substitute (be careful with the V though) wear a tube if the v cuts too low, you can also use the tube to incorporate some color as well.
What the V will do is elongate your neckline (Décolletage).

Fit is very important; too tight and too short will not work with the capri..or anything else, it will actually make you look bigger. So stay away from spandex (it hugs).

"To maintain that chic look try wearing a shoe off the ground, and no I don't mean 5" heels. We're trying to be comfortable here. A very low wedge or espadrille" is what i suggest for your footwear.

Accessorize with earings no chain because of the neckline.

"A few basic pieces that we all have in our wardrobe (should all have) with the right accessories and mission accomplished."

Recap: Jean, V-neck, Shoes, Earings.

I hoped this helped to put your comfortably chic look in perspective.

J
