After an entire week of wearing uniforms, with the exception of Thursday (yay for holidays!), I was so looking forward to wearing this cute purple spaghetti-strap sweetheart-cut sundress on Saturday morning.
I'm not sure what inspired me to want to wear this dress in the first place. No, wait, I think it was the purple nail polish that I was wearing. Yes, my nails were purple (and they're still purple).
What I did not do Friday night, however, was watch the news; had I done that, I probably would've gotten a heads-up about the weather for Saturday.
Let's just say that the rain put a spoke in my wheel - no sun, no sundress. Sigh! So much for my cute ensemble for this morning; thanks to the weather, I had to find another way to look cute that included the rain and my purple nails (that I'm loving right now). Back to the wardrobe for this one.
After putting together (and trying on) a couple of new outfits to change into, I realised that as cute and stylish as they all were, I still wanted to wear my sundress.
Call me spoilt if you want to, I did just as I wanted: I wore my sundress. While I was looking for something else to wear, I came across a dark blue long-sleeve denim jacket that I hadn't worn in well over a year, could be longer (see why I said not to throw clothes away).
That jacket, paired with the sundress, solved my problem. I was able to wear my sundress after all.
Much to my annoyance, the rain stopped. I actually liked the denim jacket with the dress, so I simply rolled the sleeves up and kept it on for a while. Back out in the open, I took it off and wore my dress alone.
With the weather as unpredictable as it is, I'm really happy that I found my denim jacket; now I have another piece that I can wear when it rains.
So you, too, can pull out that denim jacket and get creative with it. Come on, everybody has a denim jacket.
