I know exactly what your going through!!! My grandmother is 85 now and she has alzheimers. Like your grandmother she raised me from a baby when my mother was living away in New York, she always took care of me, fed me, clothe me. A few years back maybe..7 years now she started struggling with her daily routine, she would not bathe because she always thought she did, she could not cook again because she would add too much of something, she also got aggressive when we asked her if she needed help. She used to be a strong woman, she beared 9 kids and has granchildren and great grands now :) and sometimes she does not even recognise us, and it hurts so bad to see someone who is/was a pillar of strength disappear before our eyes. I use to be the one around her the most and i saw the stages that she went through and it was hurtful and confusing. :( Now that I am in Canada for university i dont think that she even remembers that I left for university. I miss her everyday.I love her so much, and I would not be here without her encouraging me to continue studying and most of all I would not be alive. - Anna-Marie Lee

I understand what you are going through because my grandmother is d same way. Another sign of Alzheimer's is aggressiveness. They alwys fel that they are right and they want to fly at you when you correct them. It is a pain ful process and very hard to live with. - Nicholette F.

This, I can imagine must have been somewhat hard to write because it would have required that you remember this loss. However, your "Ma", the one you knew I'm sure is very proud of you because what she did for you, you are doing for her. So really this completes her duty you know, because her job was to ensure that what she instilled in you was taken and swallowed. God bless and keep hanging in there because when you were a baby you did not no her, but she kept on bathing and feeding you so you continue to do your duty. I don't know you and I'm proud of you :D - DhaniB

This is a very touching piece of writing. A strong tribute to a woman who clearly did a good job raising you to tell great stories. Keep it up! - sara_k
