The Student Press is the flagship publication of Yearbooks Caribe Co Ltd, a company incorporated under the laws of Trinidad and Tobago in 2004. Committed to the creation of a thriving youth media in this country and the region, the paper continues to position itself as "the coolest read" for secondary school students nationwide.

kpKerry Peters, Founder & CEO— In 2002, Kerry, a QRC old boy, quit his job at a highly profitable telecommunications company to start one of the first yearbook publishing firms in Trinidad & Tobago.

His earnest desire for personal fulfillment led to short stints in the mainstream media and culminated with the birth of an innovative scholastic media company. Since then, Yearbooks Caribe has emerged as a small team of professionals knowledgeable in journalism and new media.

The Student Press – Vision Statement

We will positively impact the lives of the students we come into contact with so that they can be contributors first to their own families and by extension, to society.

We will advocate the importance of journalism to a democratic society and we will make young people more educated news consumers.

In the spirit of excellence, we will combine raw teen talent with technology to create a thriving youth media, which will be a forum for self-expression and the exploration of the social and institutional problems that affect young people.

We will teach young journalists to seek truth and report it and to distinguish between fact and fiction. In the process, our work will elevate the views, opinions and concerns of youth to a place where they can be heard and taken seriously by government, parents and other stakeholders.

The students we interact with will learn to appreciate diversity and to overcome difficult personal circumstances through surrender to God and a belief in self. They will leave here knowing how to lead by knowing how to serve.
